Camp Ta-Ku-La Youth and Retreat Center

    A leisurely stroll through the East Texas piney woods, the warmth of a crackling fire, great food with good friends, an exciting volleyball game ... these are all part of the Camp Ta-Ku-La experience. At Camp Ta-Ku-La you will be in a different world, but you wont' have to drive all day to get there! Camp Ta-Ku-La is just a two hour drive from Houston. Far enough to escape the hurried world, modern and spacious enough to host your next retreat, seminar or week long camping program.

    Camp is a special place for kids to practice growing up under the guidance of trained, caring counselors. Kids can feel safe having fun and exploring new activities and experiences because there are limits and boundaries. Camp is a community where kids work and play together, make decisions and choices, develop responsibility and learn to cooperate, as they build self - esteem and courage. Most of all, Camp is fun!

    The best part is that there is an affordable camp for every single child! Camp is built around a sense of community where children can flourish.

    All dormitories are equipped with bathroom and shower facilities and each has its own unit for heating and cooling. Our goal is to help your camping experience be all you hoped it could be.
